CLUB BASKETBALL FAQ

When do the teams practice?

Right now it's scheduled where you will have 2 practices a week, Monday thru Thursday. Practice times are always 4:15pm-5:45pm. Your exact practice days will be determined by your coach.

Where do you play your games?

Most games will be in close proximity to the San Fernando Valley. There will be occasional tournaments in other parts of Southern California and Santa Barbara. Tournaments will be discussed with parents before being finalized.

Are my kids required to attend devotionals?

We highly encourage our players to attend devotionals, to get the full developmental experience of our program, but it is not required.

Who will be my kids coach?

Coaches are assigned to teams after tryouts. Regardless, your child will be taught by a knowledgeable coach who cares about their development as a person as much as a player.

What is the commitment to be on a club team?

Club players will be required to practice as a team a minimum of one day per week. Our AAU program is a higher level, “travel” team program and parents and athletes must really be careful not to be overcommitted to multiple teams, leagues, etc.
* Please be sure to check our our Club Basketball Parent Packet. This document will answer most questions and also includes payment details.

GENERAL SHEPHERD SPORTS FAQ

Where is Shepherd Sports?

Shepherd Sports Gym is located at 19700 Rinaldi St, Porter Ranch, CA 91326. Located in the middle building on property next to the playground.

Do I have to attend Shepherd Church to participate?

No. Our programs are open to anyone. We encourage you to invite a friend.

How do I register?

Registrations can only be done through the Shepherd Sports online registration system. If you don’t see a registration link on the webpage, that program registration is not open yet.

What is the waiting list and how does it work?

Our programs fill up fast and once a program reaches capacity we often employ a waiting list. If an athlete is on the waiting list they can be added as space allows. Shepherd Sports staff will contact you if your athlete can be moved off the waiting list. We do not require payments to register on the waiting list.

What if I have to cancel or withdraw from the program?

We have a refund policy. Please see it here.

What if I miss a week?

Missing a week is common with most athletes. We do not prorate or give refunds for missed sessions.

Why is there a missing game or date for my game/practice?

Many times, the gym/field is used for other events within the church, thus causing a bye for that current sports program.

Can I leave my child during the program?

Yes. However, you must be back before the session ends. We are not responsible for athletes that are not currently in session.

Do you offer personal one on one training?

We do not have any one-on-one training at this time.

How do I get notified about upcoming programs?

If you have participated with us before you will automatically get email notifications about upcoming programs. If you have never participated with us before, we encourage you to click here and sign up for our newsletter.

How can I get involved as a volunteer?
